Students Regularly Experience Cambodia’s International Learning Atmosphere Through the STIKI Malang International Credit Transfer Program

Malang City- Informatics students class of 2022 from Sekolah Tinggi Informatika & Komputer Indonesia (STIKI) Malang will hold an International Credit Transfer activity for the Even semester of FY 2023/2024. This activity is part of efforts to broaden academic experiences, expand collaboration networks, and increase career opportunities for students. International credit transfer is an important platform for students to explore broader academic horizons and explore new opportunities internationally.

This activity is jointly organized by Cambodia University of Technology and Science (CamTech), which is a partner of overseas universities (PT-LN) owned by STIKI Malang and will be held online. International Credit Transfer is one of the flagships of MBKM STIKI Malang, namely student exchange. The outbound students who took part in this activity were 3 students from the Informatics study program in the name of Arfan Karunia Setia Putra with NRP. 221111007, Michelle NRP. 221111001, and Agus Miftahul Huda NRP. 221111031, which brings enthusiasm and desire to explore knowledge and experience in an academic environment that is different from usual. For inbound students from Tarlac Agricultural University, Philippines (TAU), there was one online student named Karl Anthony who will take courses in the STIKI Malang Informatics study program.

“This International Credit Transfer aims to open the door for students to experience a more diverse academic experience, expand cross-border collaboration networks, and improve students’ skills and career opportunities. “As an initiative aimed at developing students’ academic and professional capacity, this activity is expected to create a strong foundation for students to compete globally in an increasingly connected and competitive era,” said Datik.

“Academic flexibility is one of the main benefits of this international credit transfer program. “In this way, students have the opportunity to explore various courses and study programs at various institutions around the world, enriching their learning experience with new perspectives that they may not get in their own campus environment,” added Datik.

Not only that, through this activity, students can also access the best academic resources in various countries, utilizing expertise and facilities that may not be available on their own campus. This will not only improve the quality of education received by students, but also open up opportunities for innovative and collaborative research in the future.

Apart from that, this activity also opens up opportunities for students to expand their academic and professional networks. Through international student exchange, campuses become more culturally diverse, increasing cross-cultural understanding and openness to differences. Interaction between students from various cultural backgrounds will provide opportunities for them to enrich their perspectives and increase their collaborative capacity in a global environment.

Considering the importance of international experience in a student’s career, this international credit transfer program is also expected to increase student career mobility in the global job market. Students who have international study experience tend to have a competitive advantage with strong cross-cultural and adaptability skills. This will not only give them an edge in finding jobs in the global job market, but also in building successful careers in various industrial fields.
