STIKI Malang Holds Farewell Ceremony for Students Heading Abroad to Enhance International Learning and Cultural Experience

On August 24, 2023, Malang City, the Indonesian College of Informatics and Computer Science (STIKI), witnessed the ceremonial departure of seven students who received government aid under the International Credit Transfer program to study abroad in the Philippines and India. This initiative is a part of the Independent Learning Campus (Kampus Merdeka) program, aiming to enhance students’ technical and soft skills through international learning experiences while promoting cross-cultural understanding in the face of complex global competition.

Arif Tirtana, S.Kom., M.Kom, the Head of the Global Partnership and Public Communication Unit, expressed his hope for the program’s successful execution, aligning with the institution’s vision and mission. The program is set to run for an entire semester, providing students ample time to explore and adapt to their new learning environments.

In this program, STIKI Malang sent two students to the Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology in India and five students to Tarlac Agricultural University in the Philippines. The participating STIKI Malang students include Muhammad Akbar Ababil and Fauzan Ramelan for Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, and Gerani Eka Nurizah, Fadila Zeti Dewinta, Vania Faustina Gunawan, Nisayajna Zailila Hariyanto, and Hashfi Andira Putra for Tarlac Agricultural University.

Arif added that STIKI Malang students participating in this program have a golden opportunity to study across disciplines and cultures, interact with the local community, and experience a life different from their usual routine in Indonesia. It is expected that they will return with broader knowledge, a global perspective, and the drive to innovate and compete on the international stage.

STIKI Malang, as part of this program, also received four students from Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISATU) and Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) in the Philippines. Through the International Credit Transfer program, STIKI Malang reaffirms its commitment to providing the best learning experiences for its students and fostering close collaborations with foreign universities. This initiative encourages students to overcome cultural and language barriers and proactively seek knowledge in our dynamic global era.
